Feb 2008 - Stephen & Gwyn in Western Australia, Tour with UK Trance Medium Angie Kruger
In Feb 2008, my wife Gwyn and I toured Western Australia for three weeks. I worked with trance medium Angie Kruger, doing weekend workshops and evening demonstrations, with plenty of private readings in between. Gwyn and I met many wonderful people who all made our time in Oz very special.

The Reverend George Thompson of the Aquarian Spiritual Church was the main organiser for this tour and I want to give a big thank you to George for all of his support.
10 Feb 08: I gave a demonstration of psychic art and clairvoyance at the Ballajura Spiritualist Church run by Mr. Peter Hipe, just outside of Perth. I shared the platform with spiritualist medium Shirley. While Shirley worked, I drew for people in the audience.
One drawing was especially interesting - I drew an older gentleman who reminded me of Fred Astaire. He showed me that he was a dancer in his day, and he also kept showing me his watch. The lady I was drawing for recognised him as her father who did indeed love to dance, 'like Fred Astaire', and whose watch held particular significance for her. I was very happy to make this link between father and daughter.

We took time out to look around the beautiful city of Perth. Above is a Boab tree in Kings Park, overlooking the Swan River. The photo below shows Perth's skyline.

12 Feb '08: We travelled to Armadale, a town just south of Perth. Trance medium Angie Kruger gave an evening demonstration with her guide Richard, while I drew for people in the audience. As each drawing was finished, I relayed messages connected with the drawing to a person in the audience.

A private reading for Armadale resident Sherri-Elle produced a drawing of her grandmother, whose gentle presence continues to be with her. Below left is Gwyn with Sherri-Elle, and right is the drawing of Sherri-Elle's grandmother.

Travelling further south to the town of Bunbury, we discovered the incredible Indian Ocean, and many friendly dolphins!

16 Feb '08: Angie taught a two-day trance workshop in Bunbury, while I gave private readings to workshop attendees. It was a priviledge to draw for so many people, to link with their loved one or spirit guide and bring these portraits through for them.

Above is Trish's guide David. Trish is an artist and was delighted with her portrait which I was guided to draw using many colours.

We travelled to Australind to give more private readings at the home of Dalveen Sherwood. Dalveen graciously offered her lovely home overlooking the Estuary as a place for me to meet and draw for people. While reading for Dalveen's daughter Tracy, I was guided to draw a young man with a baseball cap worn backwards. She immediately recognised him as her son Brent, who had tragically passed away in an accident. Tracy then brought out a photo of Brent wearing one of the many hats he liked to wear.

Drawing for Dalveen I made a very interesting link with her guide - or should I say GUIDES - because as I drew for her, the drawing went through three stages. First, the drawing was recognised as her spiritual mentor and friend who is on the earth plane living many miles away. She recognised him straight away and was able to show me a photo to confirm this. (photo to be added soon!)

Despite this initial recognition, I felt guided to keep drawing. As I continued, the drawing changed and now clearly showed a spirit guide presenting herself as an old woman. The photo below left shows Dalveen with stage 2 of her drawing.
I continued to work on the drawing, and an overwhelming masculine energy started coming through as the drawing evolved into a third stage. The drawing now showed a desert dwelling man wearing the traditional head covering to keep out heat and sand. This was another spirit guide working with Dalveen. Although each stage of the drawing shows similarities, the energies were all very different. All three stages of this single drawing held a special meaning and message for Dalveen.

19 Feb '08: While in Bunbury, Angie and I gave another combined demostration of trance mediumship and psychic portraiture. At this demo, I drew and described an elderly man for someone in the audience. I was able to give a description of him, including a connection with Belgium, and the name 'Jacques'. At first the lady did not recognise him, but afterwards came up to me and said she realised I had drawn her father's cousin Jacques from Canada, with a Belgium connection.

At the end of the demo, I sat with Bessie and felt guided to draw very quickly, one of my fastest drawings ever, in fact. The drawing was not much more than an outline of a face, but Bessie immediately recognised that it was her father making a link with her. This was further confirmed by the information I was able to relay, including a description of her father.

We made time to travel further south and visit the beautiful Margaret River town and beach. Even on a cloudy day the Ozzy beaches are breathtaking.

On the road again, we travelled from Bunbury back to Armadale for the next leg of our adventure.

23 Feb '08: The final workshop was held in Armadale and once again the connections with spirit were very positive. I gave personal readings to workshop attendees while Angie taught the two-day trance workshop. As in the last workshop, I contributed a session on how to allow our spirit guide to draw through us - the first steps of developing psychic or spirit portraiture.

Learning 'Psychic' or 'Spirit' Portraiture fit in well with Angie's workshop on Trance. As Angie demonstrated, it is through trance that one can make a stronger connection with their spirit guide, learning to trust the message and guidance that comes through. This connection can be made stronger through speaking, writing, singing, drumming, dancing, painting or drawing!

A wonderful story of spirit connection came out of the Armadale Workshop. I was reading and drawing for workshop student Sue Clark. As the drawing progressed, we both could see that the man in the drawing was a soldier from WW II. I continued drawing more detail and Sue and I both agreed that this drawing was not connected with her, but was in fact a 'lost' spirit, who had not yet crossed over to the higher realms due to the trauma of his life in the war.
I brought the drawing out for the group to 'read' (as shown in the photo below). This was an interesting experiment, as much of the information the group picked up on I had already received from spirit but had not yet told the group.

No one in the group felt a personal connection with this young man, but we agreed that his name was Giovanni, or John, that he was from northern Italy and that he had lost his brother who had followed him into fighting in the war.

(above: Stephen with Sue Clark. Instead of the usual spirit guide or loved one, Spirit brought through two souls who needed help moving on.)
The next day I agreed to do another drawing for Sue, this time hoping to draw a guide or loved one for her. But instead, the very same young soldier came through a second time! We showed this to the group again, and some felt that this drawing was Giovanni's brother. He wore the same helmet and looked just like the first drawing. We realised both these souls needed our help to go to the light and move on, and together we helped them to do this.
We thought that this was the end of the story, but in fact there was to be a further connection. While staying with our friends Cath and Rod Hardie in Perth, we met their friends, mother and daugther Deanne and Jo-anne.

(above: In Perth - Gwyn, Stephen, Cath, Jo-anne and Deanne, with photo of John)
We shared with them the photos from the Armadale workshop and the story of the soldier 'rescue'. Upon seeing the drawing of the soldier, Deanne and Jo-anne agreed that the drawing looked uncannily like Deanne's late husband - Jo-anne's father, John. Even though he had not fought in WW II, his family did come from northern Italy and he had relatives who fought in the war. Although they could not yet confirm it, Deanne and Jo-anne agreed it was very possible he had an uncle with the name Giovanni. The family resemblance between the drawing of the soldier, and a photo of John makes this an intriguing story and one that may reveal more connections after further research!

Another wonderful spirit connection made in Armadale occured when I drew for Gillian. She recognised the drawing straight away as that of her late father-in-law, Lou. She was so thrilled that she went straight home to bring back photos of Lou - one as a young man and one when he was older. You can see the remarkable resemblance here.

No visit to Oz would be complete without seeing a kangaroo, and we were priviledged to see some wild ones in the bush next to a golf course in Rockingham, thanks to the Rev. George and his wife Olive who helped us spot them! This one was about 15 feet away from us.

The wild life is abundant in W. Australia, but a more gentle soul you could not find than the lovely Bindy Bindy, Cath and Rod's special dog.

Our time in Australia had come to an end. It was a special, exciting and rewarding time which we will never forget! Thanks to everyone we met and to Spirit for helping to make our work so rewarding!
